How To Force Stop A Service

Have you ever wanted to force stop a service that is not responding or wont stop/restart on a Windows box?
Here is e a quick and easy guide on how to force stop a service that should take about a minute or less.
- Click the Start menu
- Click Run or in the search bar type services.msc
- Press Enter
- Look for the service, right click and select Properties and identify service name
- Once found, open an elevated command prompt. Type sc queryex [servicename].
- Press Enter
- Identify the PID
- In the same command prompt type taskkill /pid [pid number] /f
- Press Enter
- Go to services and confirm service has stopped
