Warning Event ID 1058 – Security-SPP – Installation of the proof of purchase from the ACPI table failed
This is an event error that I have been seeing pop up more and more often even though this warning has been around for years. While the official Dell response has been to ignore the issue, re-register with the product key received when purchased or to make a changes to the registry ( included below ) to suppress the errors from being reported in the Event Viewer.
Our recommendation would be to re-enter the product license code found on the sticker on the box, contact the authorized seller or manufacturer directly for assistance.
If you know that the product code is authentic and are simply wanting to suppress the error codes please made the below adjustments to the registry and reboot the device.
Using Regedit, navigate to the following location:
• HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
• Add a new DWORD registry named "BiosPkeyOptions" & set the Value Data to "1".
